Women's Super League at Old Trafford - Lancashire Thunder v Yorkshire Diamonds Friday August 12 1800

The Big Night Out for Cheshire women’s and girls’ cricket is drawing closer. We would love to see anyone with a connection to
the League, the Cheshire senior women’s team, the three Cheshire girls’ teams or the clubs of the selected Cheshire-based players on Friday August 12. On this day, Lancashire Thunder play Yorkshire Diamonds in the Women’s Super League at Old Trafford. Play starts at 1800, and early arrivals are welcome to meet in the Quadrant pub (Greatstone Road, M32 8GR – this is on the other side of the tram tracks from the ground) from 1630. From 1745 please meet in Stand C Lower at the ground – Lancashire CCC say that their regular Party Stand, Stand D, is likely to be closed on this day due to building work.

If you wish to avoid the queue on the night and buy a ticket in advance, you can do so via the Lancashire CCC website. All tickets are unreserved so no need to worry about not being able to sit with the group. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 for under 18s. Lancashire CCC members can get free admission simply by producing their membership book at the turnstile.

The Lancashire Thunder squad includes
 Current England internationals – Danielle Wyatt, Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone (Chester Boughton Hall & Alvanley
CCs)
 Former England international – Laura MacLeod (Wistaston Village CC)
 Other Cheshire-based player – Emma Lamb (Bramhall CC)
 Overseas players – Deandra Dottin, Hayley Matthews, Amy Satterthwaite

Sarah Taylor will not be playing in this tournament as she continues to take a break from the game. Amy Satterthwaite will captain the side and Taylor will not be replaced in the squad. Yorkshire Diamonds boast current England players Danielle Hazell, Lauren Winfield, Jenny Gunn and Katherine Brunt; alongside former England player Laura Spragg and overseas stars Shabnim Ismail, Beth Mooney and Alex Blackwell.
