CHESHIRE WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Division Three West - May 27:

Hawarden Park 88-6 (30; Holly Mayers 26*, Ashlee Prince 2-5) (4pts)
Nantwich 80-3 (21.3; Sophie Winward 34, Grace Michell 27*) (25pts)

• Nantwich completed a league double over Hawarden, as they had almost reached their victory target when rain brought an early conclusion.

Division Three East – May 20:

Marple 93-7 (20) (4pts)
Appleton 2nd XI 97-1 (14) (25pts)
(No performance details available at present)

• Appleton needed less than half the available overs to complete their successful run chase and maintain their 100 per cent record in this division.

Division Three Cross-Divisional – May 24:

Appleton 2nd XI 121-3 (20; Chris McLean 26ret, Sylvia Christelow 25ret, Abbey Gore 25ret) (25pts)
Chester Boughton Hall 2nd XI 57-5 (20; Charlie Waring 37*, Christelow 2-4, Charlotte Cross 2-8) (2pts)
(all Appleton wickets were Retired Out so Chester receive no bonus points for these)

• Appleton maintained their 100 per cent record as their trio of retired batsmen led the way to a big total.

NATIONAL KNOCKOUT

Round Three - May 27:

Didsbury w/o Stockport Georgians

• The ‘showdown’ between the league’s two entrants never happened, with Georgians unable to raise a team, and it is Didsbury who go through to the last 16 and a match at Leyland this Sunday – they are two matches from the national Finals Day.

T20 DIVISIONAL COMPETITION

Western Division – May 21:

Appleton Tigers 85-5 (20; Holly McCurrie 26ret, Georgia Heath 23, Lauren O’Reilly 2-15)
Chester Boughton Hall Deemons 72-4 (17; Hannah Snape 28ret, Lorna Starkey 21*)

• Winners of the T20 double last year, Chester saw their 11-match unbeaten record in the shorter form of the game end in somewhat unsatisfactory circumstances, when bad light stopped play just when a tremendous finish was on the cards in this ‘clash of the titans’. Appleton prevailed on faster run rate, scoring at 4.250 compared to Chester’s 4.235 – had Chester scored one more run when play was halted, or restricted Appleton to one less earlier in the evening, the result would have gone the other way.

Eastern Division – May 21:

Stockport Trinity Fire 119-4 (20; Carys White 26ret, Hannah Wicks 25ret, Sarah McCann 25ret, Georgie Morton 3-18)
Woodley 70-8 (20; Abi Barlow 14, Marika Smith 14*, Hattie Roberts 2-6)

• Last year’s Eastern Division winners, and overall runners-up, Trinity produced a solid batting effort to lead them to victory in their first match of this year’s competition

May 24:

Ashton-on-Mersey 78-1 (20; Charlotte Williams 25ret, Claire Anderton 22)
Didsbury Swordettes 79-2 (12.3; Hannah Jones 25ret)

• Despite losing just one wicket in their own innings, Ashton-on-Mersey were unable to compile a target that stretched Didsbury unduly
