CHESHIRE WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Division Two – July 1:

Leigh 179-6 (40; Emma Capper 59, Georgia Taylor 25, Rachel Downs 22, Ella Smith 20*, Alexa Harrison 2-28) (25pts)
Oxton 111-6 (40; Tess Nixon 29, Rebecca Othick 22*, Hannah Kowalski 20, Abbie Wright 2-30) (6pts)

Emma Capper made it back-to-back half centuries as her Leigh side made it back-to-back wins over Oxton over the last two Sundays.

Division One / Two Cross Divisional – July 1:

Stockport Georgians+ 58 (25.2; Beth Garnett 23, Zara Matthews 2-4, Abby Nicholson 2-9) (1pt)
Didsbury* 59-0 (11; Laura Griffiths 31*, Leesa Mellon 23*) (25pts)

Didsbury produced a fine all-round bowling effort, then Laura Griffiths and Leesa Mellon continued their recent good form at the top of the order to complete the win.

Ashton-on-Mersey+ 80-5 (40; Azure Wilkinson 49*) (2pts)
Appleton* 81-0 (13; Emma Barlow 57*, Jess Lewis 12*) (25pts)

Appleton were in fine form as their title challenge continues. Appleton, Didsbury and Oakmere all have one defeat to their name at the top of division one

Division Three West – July 1:

Nantwich 117-6 (30; Madi Hudson 52*, Charlie Scudder 2-21) (8pts)
Upton 118-7 (24; Cath Williams 27, Lily Scudder 22, Izzi Pearson 2-?, Hudson 2-?) (25pts)

Upton edged another tight contest with their closest rivals in the division. However, having beaten Nantwich twice – by margins of six runs and three wickets – and having won a cross-divisional match against Eastern Division leaders Appleton seconds, Upton are well and truly sitting pretty at the top.

Division Three East – July 1:

Woodley 127-5 (20; Abby Barlow 66, Alex Wilson 35, S Hughes 2-33) (25pts)
Lymm Oughtrington Park 86-8 (20; Carol Ingham 50*, Barlow 2-10, Emily Mason 2-19) (8pts)

Despite Carol Ingham’s half-century, the total posted by Woodley earlier in the day proved too stiff a chase.

Division Three Cross-Divisional – June 28:

Lymm Oughtrington Park (25pts) w/o Chester Boughton Hall 2nd XI (minus 10pts)

KNOCKOUT CUPS

Knockout Cup Quarter-Final – June 29:

Stockport Trinity Fire 139-5 (20; Carys White 26ret, Jennie Kitzinger 25ret, Jen Regan 3-29)
Wistaston Swans 98 (18.4; Alison Smith 28ret, Kate Harvey 3-3, Gillian Spragg 2-15, Hattie Roberts 2-28)

Wistaston themselves got close to three figures in this high-scoring match but were still well behind the imposing total posted by Trinity, who now go through to a home semi-final with Didsbury.
