• Unbeaten Stockport Trinity and Didsbury seemingly remain on collision course for their two encounters over the final three weekends of the season after both recorded their latest victories today. Trinity were made to work much harder than they expected when Leigh were reduced to 24-6 batting first, as Hattie Roberts and, especially, Emma Royle wreaked damage amongst the Lancashire club’s top order. Royle’s return of three wickets for four runs in six overs was another illustration of how she can be one of the league’s most consistent opening bowlers. After this, Ella Smith led a recovery of sorts, but would the target be enough to trouble Trinity? The answer, to some degree, was yes, as Trinity’s powerful looking top three was unable to dominate against some accurate bowling, but Jenny Dunn remained undefeated to see her side over the line.

• Didsbury turned on the style as they recorded the highest team score in any division of the 2020 Summer Series, passing the previous mark of 202 set by Porthill. Roshini Prince-Navaratnam fell three short of a century but her individual score is the highest of the year so far in the Eastern Division and has been bettered only by Evelyn Jones in the Western Division. Marianne Lea’s two wickets for four runs in five overs was one of the impressive bowling analyses as Didsbury completed their fifth victory. Trinity and Didsbury meet at Wythenshawe on Sunday August 30 and then at Trinity on September 13.
