Summer Series Western Division August 16

Nantwich give unbeaten leaders Porthill their biggest scare so far Upton stay second after derby win over Oxton

Porthill Park 86-9 (30; Becky Cripwell 43*, Bethan Robinson 3-9, Kelsey Barker 3-10) (25pts)
Nantwich 68-8 (30; Madi Hudson 23, Ellie-Mae Davies 2-6, Cripwell 2-12) (6pts)

• Porthill Park maintained their 100 per cent record, but not in the manner they have been used to. After winning their first four matches by such dominant margins, being reduced to four wickets for three runs after five overs, and then to 9-5 by Nantwich bowlers Bethan Robinson and Kelsey Barker was perhaps not what they were expecting. Their remaining batsmen and their bowlers managed however to pull this one out of the bag – Becky Cripwell continued her fine form with both bat and ball - and Porthill are now only 40 points away from guaranteeing a first-place finish.

Upton 117-9 (30; Philippa Dagger 53, Freya Davies 3-20, Ellie Grisedale 2-13, Molly Price 2-17, Hattie Nickson 2-18) (25pts)
Oxton 67 (25.5; Tessie Nickson 15, Lucy Andrews 15, Alexa Harrison 15, Dagger 2-3, Ellen McGowan 2-15, Hannah McGowan 2-15) (6pts)

• Upton’s good form continued with this local derby victory and they stay in second spot. Philippa Dagger’s bowling performances have been to the fore of late but here she certainly shone with the bat as well.
