Wednesday at Old Trafford, Sunday at Chester

Lancashire Thunder have a home Women's Super League match against Surrey Stars at Old Trafford this Wednesday, giving you your chance to see England’s World Cup winning heroes in action
in the North West. Play starts at 1430, with a men’s match (Lancashire Lightning v Worcestershire Rapids) to follow at 1830.
We look forward to seeing as many people with a connection to Cheshire women’s or girls’ cricket at this match. Lancashire Thunder is in no way a Lancashire county side – it represents the entire North West region, and includes players from Cheshire in the squad, so there is every reason to get behind this team and to wish them every success. Tickets for the Old Trafford match can be purchased via https://www.eticketing.co.uk/lccc/details/event.aspx?itemref=3697 from just £4 for adults and £1 for juniors. The ticket price also includes access to the men’s match.

Danielle Hazell is the new captain of Lancashire Thunder, and Sarah Taylor will be the second member of the World Cup
winning side in the squad. Other Thunder players include England’s Kate Cross and Sophie Ecclestone, Australia’s Jess
Jonassen, and the New Zealand duo of Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu. The squad also includes the likes of Evelyn Jones
(England Academy, scored 119 for the MCC versus the CWCL last year), Emma Lamb (Bramhall CC and previous nonplaying
member of England senior squads) and Rachel Dickinson (former CWCL player with Astley Bridge).
The Surrey Stars team will include England’s Tammy Beaumont, Laura Marsh and Alex Hartley, Australia’s Rene Farrell and
South Africa’s Lizelle Lee and Marizanne Kapp.

Also look forward to seeing you at Finals Day at Chester Boughton Hall on Sunday August 20, when some of the league's best players will be in show in the three finals, two of which feature the host club. The line-up is:

Development Knockout Cup (1000) – Stockport Georgians v Didsbury 2nd XI
Knockout Cup (1330) – Didsbury Swordettes v Chester Boughton Hall Deemons
T20 Divisional Competition (1630) – Stockport Trinity Fire v Chester Boughton Hall Deemons

A 1000 start is necessary, and the start times for the second and third matches must be regarded as approximate. This is
because Chester Boughton Hall is also hosting a men’s Cheshire Cup semi-final on the same day, the League will only have
access to the second ground and to two changing rooms. Anyone arriving for match two should try to do so before 1200, owing to the pressure on car parking spaces expected on the day.

Congratulations to newly crowned Division 3 champions Stockport Georgians, and to Wistaston Village, who are this year's Division 2 winners, subject to the caveat of them not conceding either of their two remaining matches.
