Oakmere march on at top

Division One – May 7:
Oakmere 185-2 (40; Dawn Prestidge 97*, Raffaella Rodighiero 52*) (25pts)
Appleton 116 (40; Emma Barlow 42, Laura Jackson 38*, Jane Tarpey 3-17, Vicky Heaton 3-24, Sarah Worsdale 2-10) (4pts)

• Oakmere made it three wins from three by negotiating a tough-looking trip to Appleton. Once again the Northwich-based side piled on the runs batting first, although on this occasion it was Dawn Prestidge and Raffaella Rodighiero who made hay. Oakmere are now the only unbeaten side in the first division.

Chester Boughton Hall 100 (37.5; Sammi Short 29, Kate Coppack 25, Amna Malik 4-25, Leesa Mellon 2-7, Hannah Jones 2-9) (25pts)
Didsbury 79-9 (40; Rosie Davis 19, Short 3-8, Holly Chambers 2-12, Coppack 2-15) (7pts)

• 2016 champions Chester finally recorded their first win, having opened the season with two defeats. However, it wasn’t all plain sailing once again for Boughton Hall, and Didsbury got much closer than might have been the case after they were reduced to 16-5. Chester’s Sammi Short and Didsbury’s Hannah Jones both bowled five maidens in their eight over stints.

Division Two – May 7:

Ashton-on-Mersey 122 (38; Sarah Sutcliffe 19, Katie Bennett 4-24) (4pts)
Wistaston Village 123-2 (25; Alison Smith 49*, Bennett 27*) (25pts)

• A second win for Wistaston, achieved with all of 15 overs in hand, inflicting a second defeat in the process. Katie Bennett, who has often kept wicket for Wistaston and other league clubs in the past, shone as a bowler here.
